Test and measurement company Rohde & Schwarz has introduced R&S Cable Rider ZPH cable and antenna analyzer – promising to cut test time during installation and maintenance for infrastructure manufacturers and network operators.
R&S Cable Rider ZPH promises measurement speed of 0.3 milliseconds per data point. Featuring the fastest boot and warm-up time on the market, the analyzer allows users to start taking fast measurements just over a minute after switching on the R&S Cable Rider ZPH. There’s no need for calibration due to temperature and frequency changes, ensuring savings in time.

The use of the wizard function guides engineers through measurements in easy steps. Engineers can configure all settings and measurement steps. Field technicians can execute the test sequences as shown on the display. The wizard helps inexperienced field technicians to avoid operating mistakes when performing antenna and cable measurements.
The R&S Cable Rider ZPH weighs 2.5 kilograms with a battery life of nine hours. The analyzer has a large color touchscreen with familiar smartphone-like operation. Engineers can place markers by double tapping signals on the display. Engineers can operate the analyzer via the extra-large, widely spaced keys that allow easy handling.
The R&S Cable Rider ZPH base unit covers a frequency range from 2 MHz to 3 GHz. Extending the frequency range to 4 GHz is straightforward with the R&S ZPH-B4 option, which is enabled via a key code.
Rohde & Schwarz is expanding the internal analysis bandwidth of its R&S FSW high end signal and spectrum analyzer to 1.2 GHz by introducing the new R&S FSW-B1200 option. This test solution enables R&D users to analyze wideband signals in detail.
The 1200 MHz bandwidth enables research and development for next generation mobile standards, especially in the 28 GHz and 39 GHz bands for 5G, as well as characterization of wideband amplifiers for 5G.
The R&S SMW200A supports signal generation up to 40 GHz with up to 2 GHz bandwidth. R&S FSW already supports up to 2 GHz with the R&S FSW-B2000 option which requires an external digitizer.
The R&S FSW-B1200 option for the R&S FSW43 and R&S FSW50 high-end signal and spectrum analyzers with frequency ranges up to 43.5 GHz and 50 GHz is now available from Rohde & Schwarz.
Rohde & Schwarz and Prisma Telecom Testing, a supplier of performance testing solutions, have completed verification of LTE FDD five component carrier (5CC) aggregation in the downlink, including 4×4 MIMO and 256QAM on each carrier. This combination allows data transfer rates up to 2 Gbit/s.
