Telecom Lead America: Nimbuzz, a provider of
cross-platform global communications solution, claimed that it has become one
of the largest mobile and Web communications platforms, with more than 100
million users worldwide.
The company claims that most part of the user growth came
from Asia, followed by Middle East and Africa.
Asia’s user base stood at 30 million, while Middle East
and Africa have 30 million and 13 million users respectively. In Europe, the
company has 10 million users, whereas USA user base is 6.5 million strong.
The company said that it is observing 100-percent
year-over-year growth. With services in more than 80 countries across the
globe, Nimbuzz supports more than 4,000 devices.
Furthermore, the company recorded more than 1 billion
minutes of Nimbuzz P2P, NimbuzzOut and SIP calls made per month.
The company has also built
strong developer channels with local carriers and global OEM device
manufactures.
“Nimbuzz bridges this gap by providing a single
platform, with low-to-no cost at all, across any device in any form of voice,
video, file sharing and more. We are powering a global audience of more than
100 million connected mobile users — a milestone that only a couple dozen
companies in the history of the Internet have reached,” said Nimbuzz CEO Vikas
Saxena.
Launched in the Netherlands in 2006, Nimbuzz
enables free video and voice calling between users, while reducing
the cost of calls to landline and mobile phones.
