New Tagged mobile apps introduce localized chat and meet-up


Tagged announced the launch of major updates to its free
iOS and Android applications. The new apps allow its members to chat in
real-time and meet-up with other local members.


With the recent launch of mobile applications across most
major platforms, Tagged has taken the next step on its product road map. With
these releases, the company has launched its first “mobile-only”
features and introduced location-based, real-time chat across both Android and
iOS devices (iPhone and iPod touch).


Tagged has experienced growth in mobile usage from 2
percent of its daily active users in December 2010 to over 20 percent as of
July.


“We approached 2011 with the goal of making Tagged
easily accessible by every mobile device. Now we are taking the next step in
delivering Tagged to everyone, everywhere and creating mobile-only features
that will increasingly take advantage of all that mobile has to offer,”
said Greg Tseng. CEO, Tagged.


New features for the new iOS and Android Apps:
Location-based, real-time Chat. People can search for other nearby Tagged users
in real time and chat, Redesigned user profile presentation for best mobile
viewing and Added grid view for friends.


Since early-2010 Tagged has introduced mobile
applications for iOS, Android and Blackberry devices. To ensure complete
coverage of the mobile ecosystem and convenient access to Tagged across any
device with an HTML browser the company has also created a Mobile Web version
of Tagged.com.
