Mobile wallet provider MobiKwik launches new bill payment services

Telecom Lead India: Mobile wallet provider MobiKwik has launched its new bill payment services in India.

Consumers will benefit significantly as they can now pay all their utility bills including wireless and landphone, electricity, insurance and gas.

MobiKwik has tie-ups with Airtel landline, Tata Teleservices (CDMA), MTNL, Reliance Energy, BSES Rajdhani, BSES Yamuna, MSEB Mumbai, North Delhi Power, ICICI Prudential, TATA AIG life insurance for Life Insurance and Mahanagar Gas.

By adding money to their MobiKwik m-wallet by credit or debit card or through the facility of doorstep collection, users can make payments for services and recharges in one click, or via an SMS or by dialling a number.

MobiKwik customers can purchase recharge vouchers, SMS packs, tariff vouchers and other products from leading mobile operators through their MobiKwik wallet. MobiKwik is India’s No. 1 online recharge site for Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Tata Indicom, Reliance, BSNL, Aircel, Loop, Virgin Mobile and Tata Docomo.

According to a recent survey, 80 percent of bills in India are paid at the biller’s office, of which 90 percent are cash payments. Nearly 15 percent of bills are paid online either through online banking which is primarily available for the banked population or through the biller’s website, which would require the user to visit multiple websites.

The launch and addition of new options of bill payment are a significant step in MobiKwik’s growth strategy.
