CES 2012: Samsung Techwin introduces Wi-Fi video baby monitor

Samsung’s new Wi-Fi Video Baby Monitor is the ultimate
solution for parents looking to keep a safe eye on their children. Samsung will
also provide free apps for mobile platforms, including Android and iOS, so that
parents can see through the lens of the camera no matter where in the world
they may be and from nearly any mobile device.

“Parents turn to video baby monitors because they’re
looking for peace of mind, and with Samsung’s new Wi-Fi solution we’re showing
here at CES 2012, they’re getting that and a whole lot more. Samsung is putting
the latest in wireless and IP technologies right in the palms of parents’
hands, but has done so in a way that delivers unmatched simplicity and
flexibility,” said Mike Palazzolo, vice president Sales and Marketing,
consumer video monitoring and security products, Samsung Techwin America
.

The Samsung Wi-Fi Video Baby Monitor, an IP-based camera,
features an effortless one-touch button that will automatically pair the device
to a wireless home network in under 30 seconds. Users can register their camera
with SamsungSmartCam.com and are able to view what matters most from right in
their home or anywhere in the world by instantly transforming any Internet
connected smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer into their own personal
monitor. There is no limit to the amount of cameras that can be added to an
account as users can register, label and view live footage from each using
their one login.

In addition, for applications in low-light, such as
monitoring a child during sleep, Samsung has included non-visible infrared LEDs
which will allow parents to view their children in complete the dark.

With an embedded mic and speakers, Samsung’s Wi-Fi Video
Baby monitor is also capable of  two-way talk and can be configured to automatically
record video (640×480 / 30fps / H.264) when motion or sound is detected. That
footage will automatically be uploaded to a secure YouTube account and users
will be notified of the event via real time push notifications.

The Samsung Wi-Fi Video Baby Monitor will be available
March 2012 and retail for $149.00.
