Zoom Telephonics, a manufacturer of ADSL
modems and gateways, announced that it has started volume shipments of its ADSL
2/2+ Wireless-N 4-port Modem/Router, Zoom X7N Model 5790.
Model 5790 has an advanced firewall,
hardware VPN, support for both IPv6 and IPv4, and many other advanced features.
The X7N is manufactured and supported by Zoom Telephonics, a USA-based
manufacturer of quality communication products since 1977
“The X7N is a great choice for
end-users and Internet service providers who want a high-performance,
easily-installed ADSL modem/router with exceptional wireless range and
speed,” said Terry Manning, VP marketing and sales, Zoom.
The X7N integrates Broadcom IC technology
and features Wi-Fi compatible 2×2 wireless-N with wireless range up to 1000 feet
(300 meters) and wireless data speeds up to 300 Mbps. Installation is made
simpler with an Install Assistant and Auto detection feature.

as $49, the X7N is very affordably priced and a significant performance improvement

In a related industry development,
D-Link announced
the launch of its ADSL2+ Modem with Wireless N300 Router (DSL-2740B), providing
ADSL subscribers the ability to upgrade their existing Wireless G device to an
integrated modem and Wireless N router.
