Telecom Lead America: Winncom Technologies has
announced a bundling of Motorola Solutions’ WiNG 5 WLAN product
line with Nomadix’s access gateway devices, which targets hospitality,
healthcare, and education.
The bundle solution is designed for fast connectivity of
802.11a/b/g/n with an emphasis on holistic security and superior reliability.
The solution bundle includes Motorola’s AP
6511, which can be installed anywhere in minutes and is designed to fit over
the standard CAT5 structured wiring outlet already in place.
Furthermore, Motorola’s WiNG 5 WLAN architecture
eliminates choke points faced by traditional hub-and-spoke architectures by
using quality of service (QoS), mobility, dynamic RF management, and security
at the edge for mobile applications such as video and voice.
“Traditional wireless networks required a dedicated
IT staff, and this limits who can deploy a wireless guest access network.
Winncom’s guest wireless bundle combines a mature, easy-to-manage guest network
solution from Nomadix with Motorola’s advanced WiNG 5 wireless LAN
architecture,” said Greg Ioffe, director of business development, Motorola Solutions.
The solution will offer secure and reliable automation of
the guest access experience, to the small-to-medium enterprise.
The suite of features built into the Nomadix
AG3100 includes delivery of local content, bandwidth management, and
maximization of revenue beyond connectivity. The Nomadix AG3100 Access Gateway
allows users to connect to the Internet securely and quickly, and helps
business operators prevent unauthorized network access.
“The beauty of Winncom’s bundle lies in its
simplicity. Now virtually any business can install, manage, and even monetize a
Visitor Based Network with ease,” saids Dave Elder, regional channel
manager for the Americas at Nomadix.
Recently, Motorola Solutions inked a $22 million contract with ComEd to provide 900 MHz ASTRO 25
digital trunked radio system.
