Vodafone Germany uses Netcracker revenue management platform for cable

Netcracker for OSS BSSVodafone Germany will use Netcracker Technology’s Revenue Management platform for new cable subscribers.

Vodafone Germany manages a network that supports more than 44 million customers and 300 million calls per week.

Vodafone Germany will use Netcracker’s Revenue Management solution as part of its strategy for leveraging a cost-effective platform to bring on-demand, personalized digital service bundles to its cable customers in the country.

“As our customers’ expectations change, we must continue to evolve, working with proven partners and leveraging platforms that are stable, meet the requirements of our business and enable us to deliver the best customer experience,” said Frederic Vanoosthuyze, CIO at Vodafone Germany.

Vodafone Germany earlier said it plans to invest approximately €2 billion of incremental capital expenditure by the end of calendar 2021 in Gigabit fibre broadband services to deliver around 13.7 million new gigabit connections to German consumers and enterprises.

Vodafone Germany’s Giga-Cable initiative aims to enhance Vodafone’s cable footprint from the current top speed of 500 Mbps to 1 gigabit per second, through the accelerated adoption of DOCSIS 3.1 technology.

Vodafone Germany said the cable network will be enabled for DOCSIS 3.1 services over two years compared to the previous four-year rollout plan. This will meet the growing customer demand for speed. In Q1 2017-18, more than half of its new broadband users opted for cable connections of up to 200 or 400 Mbps.

In July this year, Vodafone Germany launched its fastest offering of up to 500 Mbps, which is now available to over 2.5 million households in 100 cities. Gigabit speeds will start to be available in the largest German cities in 2018.

“Our global experience in supporting new business models and operational processes has given us unique insight into the advantages of having an agile, scalable and reliable billing system,” said Roni Levy, general manager of Europe at Netcracker.
