T&M major JDSU launches PacketInsight for telecom operators

Telecom Lead India: Test and measurement major JDSU has launched PacketInsight, a software-enabled network monitoring solution.

The next generation solution pinpoints service-affecting network issues hundreds of times faster than any competing offering.

PacketInsight is designed to rapidly rewinds to points in time on the network and pinpoints quality impairment issues.

Moreover, PacketInsight provides the ability to perform the fastest data retrieval in the industry. It is the only solution that captures data at rates approaching 10 Gbps, enabling a faster time to resolution.

“The soaring number of connected devices and increase in streaming video, combined with the increasing demand for cloud computing services, require new network and service enablement solutions to remove unprecedented network complexity,” said David Heard, president of JDSU’s Communications Test and Measurement business segment.

To remain competitive, service providers need deep network visibility and lightning-fast troubleshooting capabilities provided by PacketInsight.

JDSU has already received a PacketInsight order from a US-based tier 1 network operator.

The rewind and analysis capabilities enable PacketInsight to eliminate the need to reproduce service issues.

PacketInsight troubleshoots network issues such as intrusion detection as well as voice, video and other application-level issues and has the adaptability to use JDSU’s Signaling Analyzer Real Time (SART) or existing third-party solutions.

JDSU said it will showcase its portfolio of wireless test solutions, including PacketInsight and PacketPortal, during the International CTIA Wireless 2012 Conference and Exhibition, May 8-10.
