Spirent Communications today introduced a new Wi-Fi service assurance solution for automating the installation and troubleshooting of in-home networks. This solution is centered on reducing the household related Wi-Fi network issues.
With an emerging requirement for the up-gradation of in-home Wi-Fi networks into enterprise networks, with multiple access points and extenders so that in-home coverage improves and has the necessary capacity for the heavy bandwidth usage demands of the user, Spirent’s Wi-Fi In-Home test suite is created to be implemented by technicians to check the quality of the Wi-Fi interface and select optimal channels in congested environments or to troubleshoot existing interference, if any.
Wi-Fi routers generally work on same channels once installed, so opting for the best available channel initially is an important step. As claimed by Spirent, the test suite enables the tech people to view connected devices and identify “rogue clients,” alongside providing support by including the ability to identify non-Wi-Fi and sporadic interference. Hence, installing in-home networks properly from the start can enhance customer experience and reduce costs for the provider.
The Wi-Fi In-Home Test Suite integrates well with the MoCA and Ethernet Test Suites for Flex, with the test suites aiding to address the need to learn complex home networking technologies on the job by providing automated step-by-step guidance for tests, ensuring that the methods and procedures are followed with consistency.
This is Spirent’s second expansion of Wi-Fi testing solutions made recently. The company has also launched a WLAN emulation testing product for performance testing and complex scenarios with multiple clients.
