Spirent appoints Gerhard Auer to expand EMEA sales presence

Spirent Communications announced the appointment of Gerhard Auer as vice president of Sales & Services in its efforts to expand its EMEA sales presence.
Spirent testing for connectivityGerhard Auer earlier held senior sales leadership roles with NetScout, Fluke Networks, Empirix, Viavi Solutions and Nokia.

Gerhard Auer, who will be reporting to Spirent EVP of Global Sales, Nigel Wright, will be based in Munich. Gerhard Auer will be immediately focusing on growing the EMEA business, while expanding its geographic presence in key growth markets.

Spirent will also focus on strengthening its channel partnerships and alliances to develop customer reach, in line with the company’s focus areas across 5G, lifecycle service assurance and analytics, and cyber-security.

Spirent´s lab-based market leadership, built on technological innovation and close working relationships with service providers, network equipment manufacturers and enterprises in EMEA, will remain core to the company’s success in the region.

Spirent maintains European offices in the United Kingdom, Germany and France, with plans to strengthen its presence in Israel, the Middle East and Central and Eastern European countries (CEEs).

“While Spirent is to date largely viewed as a lab-focused test and measurement company, we have the right mix of innovation, expertise and people to move up the value chain,” Gerhard Auer said.
