Spirent acquires Mobilethink and subsidiary Tweakker for $20 mn

Wireless testing vendor Spirent Communications has acquired Mobilethink and its subsidiary Tweakker for $20 million.

Mobilethink’s solutions enable telecom operators to correctly detect mobile devices, configure them for data usage, analyze device population trends, and run marketing, said Spirent in a statement.

Tweakker, a provider of cloud-based pay-as-you-grow mobile device configuration service for MVNOs and device makers, supports devices, enabling MVNOs to set up their customers’ data services without customer support calls.

Mobilethink has over 100 mobile operator and MVNO customers across Europe and emerging markets in Latin America, Africa and Asia.

Eric Hutchinson, CEO of Spirent, said: “The acquisition of Mobilethink combined with Spirent’s portfolio of mobile device performance and customer experience management solutions will help drive our overall growth with additional recurring revenue potential.”

Mobilethink reported revenue of $8.2 million in 2013.
