Telecom Lead America: Roamware has acquired Unify Group Holdings, a mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE).
The acquisition enables Roamware to enter the mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) market with an Integrated Core2SIM solution.
The company did not disclose the size of the acquisition.
The Integrated Core2SIM solution offers core network, OSS/BSS, customer care, roaming, local, custom VAS and SIM services on a single platform, allowing MVNOs to scale their investments as their business grows.
“MVNOs target subscriber segments and offer specialized services that MNOs cannot due to their commitment to larger segments,” said Ori Sasson, chairman and CEO of Roamware.
“Roamware has an in-depth understanding of the Mobile VAS ecosystem and brings to the table the best Roaming & Local VAS portfolio. With the acquisition of Unify, we offer an unbeatable plug and play MVNE platform to MVNOs and also empower MNOs to offer this platform to their MVNO customers,” Sasson added.
It may be noted that regional regulations like in the EU allow MVNOs to become alternate roaming oroviders, niche demographic segments like ethnic groups and technology segments like M2M for instance, are opening up new avenues for MVNOs.
Nitin Karmarkar, vice president, Roamware MVNE, said: “Domestic MVNOs are looking to offer roaming services and roaming MVNOs are looking to expand their footprint. MVNOs need Future Ready solutions that help them address their target segments with differentiated services and react to market changes quickly while allowing them to invest according to business growth.”
