Reliance Entertainment selects Accenture for systems integration

Reliance Entertainment has selected Accenture to integrate a revenue-generating digital rights management system for two of its businesses: Reliance Entertainment and Reliance Home Video.

Reliance  Entertainment produces and distributes motion pictures and Reliance Home Video distributes home entertainment products. Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.

As per the contract, Accenture is integrating a third-party’s digital rights management software with Reliance’s pre-existing rights management system and enterprise resource planning tool. This will enable Reliance to collect digital rights revenues globally from delivering content on multiple platforms including cinema, mobile handsets and tablet computers.

This systems integration initiative allows Reliance to automate many functions to generate more revenues by streamlining its business processes to handle larger transaction volumes, thus leading to a more effective calculation and collection of digital rights and royalties.

A growing number of Reliance customers are deciding when, where and on what platform they want to consume media and entertainment content,” said Sanjeev Lamba, CEO, Reliance Entertainment. To address these diverse needs, our company needs a versatile, intelligent and reliable digital rights management system that will ultimately generate more revenues from our media assets.”

There is immense scope for the monetization of content in the media and entertainment industry today,” said Ashish Khanna, managing director of Accenture’s Communications & High-Tech group in India. We’re excited to be working with Reliance Entertainment and Home Video to handle its digital rights management globally as they overcome this hurdle for their business.”
