Raj Dhingra is the New CEO of NComputing

NComputing, a provider in desktop virtualization, announced the appointment of Raj Dhingra as the company’s chief executive officer.

Dhingra will be responsible for accelerating the company’s global business growth, intensifying focus on enterprise and SMB markets, expanding its leadership in education, and boosting the NComputing desktop virtualization solution and technology family. Prior to joining NComputing, Dhingra was general manager and group vice president of Citrix Systems. At Citrix, Dhingra ran the desktop virtualization business where he oversaw close to half a billion dollars growth in sales over a three year period.

As well as his leadership role in global virtualization companies such as Citrix, Dhingra has held executive leadership positions in public companies such as McAfee, 3Com, SonicWALL and startups such as IntruVert Networks (acquired by McAfee) and PortAuthority Technologies(acquired by Websense).

It took less than five years for NComputing to be ranked the third largest enterprise client device company in the world by IDC. We are the fastest growing end-to-end desktop virtualization company, and are now on the cusp of a new and accelerated growth cycle,” said Will Poole, co-Chairman, NComputing.

Gartner projects that 15 percent of the global business desktop market will be hosted virtual desktops by 2014. This represents 74 million seats and is just one segment of the much bigger market opportunity. With a global industry leader of such quality and track record as Raj at our helm there is no doubt that NComputing will achieve and exceed its market potential,” Poole added.

Desktop Virtualization is one of the fastest growing and dynamic markets in the industry today. We believe the traditional PC replacement market is just the tip of the iceberg for virtual desktops, and that the true market potential is 10-100x larger,” said Raj Dhingra, CEO, NComputing. We are now seeing adoption come from enterprises deploying NComputing desktop virtualization solutions with Citrix, Microsoft and VMware virtualization infrastructures.”

Over the last 5 years,  NComputing has established a leadership position in key segments such as education and SMB, as well as a #1 position in the Asia Pacific region delivering computing to users that did not have access to PCs.

NComputing already deployed 2.6 million virtual desktops in 140 countries and is the market leader across multiple segments. The company commands over 12 percent of the U.S. K-12 education desktop market. It is ranked number one by IDC in the enterprise client device market in Asia Pacific and Latin America.

In addition to a significant installed base in SBM and education, NComputing leads the market in size, scale and scope of desktop virtualization deployments. The company has deployed the world’s largest desktop virtualization project of over 150,000 seats. It has also deployed the world’s largest Linux based desktop virtualization project involving over 30,000 seats.
