Orange Business Services announced that it is launching its new international gateway in Mumbai after receiving a clearance from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) for its Indian entity Equant Network Services India.
The new international gateway will enable Orange Business Services to offer a richer suite of high-speed international connectivity solutions to meet the growing demand of the Indian enterprise segment. Orange already owns a fully resilient next-generation network in the country with 12 Telepresence-ready points of presence in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune.
Orange Business Services is equipped to sell call collection solutions, high-speed IP voice and data services in addition to the traditional network and network related services for international and domestic customers. Orange can also self-procure bandwidth from international carriers and provide high-speed international lines.
We have a clear mandate of growth for India and this is yet another milestone for us. Our network capabilities give us a unique edge in the international market and we are committed to extending this to India. It’s our conscious strategy to grow our service portfolio with advanced IP voice and data solutions, contact center services, call collection and more network-oriented service offers for our customers,” said Bala Mahadevan, CEO, Orange Business Services India.
The company’s current business in India includes providing network connectivity and solution integration services to a host of international as well as domestic companies. Orange has made significant investment in its network in the recent years.
With the acquisition of International and National Long distance license (ILD NLD) in 2008, it can provide a full range of network and related services to enterprises in India. To provide countrywide Internet services, Orange Business Services also has the Internet Service Providers (ISP) license received from the DoT in 2009.
Orange Business Services directly employs more than 2,000 people in India, serving more than 600 domestic and multinational clients. Orange also has one of its four Major Service Centers that supports international customers located in India.
