Telecom Lead America: Amdocs said its first quarter fiscal revenue increased 2.4 percent to $826.4 million.
Net income increased marginally to $119.4 million from $111.3 million.
North American markets contributed significantly to Amdocs’ growth.

“We began fiscal 2013 with a record quarter for revenue that was partly driven by a return to year-on-year growth in our North American market. Specifically, we see renewed momentum at AT&T, which is focused on the implementation of its new strategy, including data monetization,” said Eli Gelman, chief executive officer of Amdocs Management.
In Europe, Amdocs experienced year-on-year declines owing to difficult macroeconomic conditions and the anticipated ramp down of some transformation projects with certain customers.
Amdocs said it reported 19 percent year-on-year growth in its emerging markets in the first quarter. The company is on-track to achieve its goal of double-digit growth in this region in fiscal 2013.
Within emerging markets, Latin America remains a critical growth region for Amdocs. Its strategy to focus on securing the large carriers of the region, including America Movil, Telefonica and TIM, is resulting in new customer wins and increased market penetration.
Recently, Claro Chile, a part of America Movil, selected Amdocs to consolidate its business and operational support systems (BSS/OSS).
Telefonica Argentina also selected Amdocs to implement a transformation program, marking its first project with the Telefonica group in Latin America.
Amdocs is expecting revenue of approximately $820-$850 million in second quarter fiscal 2013.
