NIIT Technologies, an IT solutions company, announced a
strategic partnership with Morris Communications, a privately held media
company with headquarters in Georgia.
Through this partnership NIIT Technologies
will provide integrated IT and business process outsourcing services to Morris
communication for an aggregate of $85 million over five years. NIIT
Technologies will have the controlling interest in the joint venture.
NIIT Technologies was selected as the preferred
partner following a rigorous selection process. This partnership will
significantly reduce our costs of operations and services, while improving the
level of services required to meeting our objectives in the future,” said Steve
K. Stone, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Newspapers and
Shared Services, Morris Communications.
Morris will transfer to the joint venture its key assets
including IT infrastructure,
people and application landscape to the joint venture. With this facility, NIIT
Technologies will be able to better address the growing technology outsourcing
business in North America with a near shore facility.
