NaviSite introduces NaviCloud intelligent storage

Telecom Lead America: NaviSite, a provider of
enterprise-class hosting, managed application, managed messaging and managed
cloud services, has introduced NaviCloud Intelligent Storage (NCIS).

The NCIS enables enterprises to store, manage, and
protect distributed, unstructured content with a flexible and scalable
solution. It offers IT an easy to manage, secure and reliable managed cloud
storage solution that complements existing storage and retention requirements
while also addressing several new business needs around mobility and on-demand
storage.

The company will be showcasing the new solution at
Interop 2012 in Las Vegas.

“NaviSite recognizes the rapidly increasing data
storage needs of today’s enterprises and is excited to add such a robust and
flexible storage solution to our existing portfolio,” said Chris
Patterson, product manager, NaviSite.

Using the EMC Atmos cloud storage platform, NCIS allows
NaviSite to offer storage-as-a-service. The scalable, pay-per-use cloud storage
helps IT manage massive data growth and storage budget.

Furthermore, NCIS allows NaviSite to offer secure end
user data portability and access from anywhere in the world and from any
compatible device.

 “Delivering innovative, best-in-class
solutions that offer choice, control, flexibility and cost efficiencies are top
of mind for today’s enterprises and with the launch of NCIS, NaviSite continues
their focus of enabling customers to deliver leading edge cloud
solutions,” said Jon Martin, senior director of product management and
marketing, EMC Cloud Infrastructure Group

According to the February 2012 Forrester Research report Top
Ten Storage Predictions for I&O Professionals, storage represented an
average of 15 percent of the total IT budget in 2011 which means organizations
will need to look at all their options before making huge investments in costly
infrastructure.

The report further said that, in 2012,”Cloud storage
becomes a viable enterprise option.”
