Telecom industry body GSMA today said Ericsson CEO Hans Vestberg and Micromax chairman Sanjay Kapoor will keynote at GSMA Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 in Barcelona.
Sanjay Kapoor, who joined Micromax, an Indian smartphone vendor, as the chairman, had earlier worked with Bharti Airtel. This is for the first time that an Indian smartphone vendor is getting the coveted slot to speak to an international audience.
The current list does not have any participation from Indian telecom operators such as Bharti Airtel, Vodafone, Idea Cellular, Reliance Communications, Tata Docomo, etc.
The industry association also announced the latest line up of keynote speakers.
The 2015 GSMA Mobile World Congress will be taking place on 2-5 March 2015 at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona.
