Motricity launches data centre in New Delhi

Motricity, a provider of mobile data services solutions
to operators, brands and agencies, announced the opening of its new data centre
in New Delhi, India adding to its Asia presence in Singapore, Malaysia and
Indonesia.

These locations play a key role in supporting customers
and continuing Motricity’s expansion in the region.  Motricity currently
has hundreds of resources in the region with aggressive growth plans through
the year.

Motricity works with a number of large operators in Asia,
including Reliance (India) and Axiata, one of the largest telecommunications
conglomerates in the region which operators include: XL (Indonesia), Celcom
(Malaysia), Dialog (Sri Lanka), Robi (Bangladesh) and Hello
(Cambodia).

We’re adding staff and infrastructure in Singapore to
better serve our existing customers and expand our footprint in Asia. The
market opportunity is tremendous and we feel that Motricity is ideally
positioned to help operators connect with their customers in ways that were
previously not available to them,” said James Ryan, chief development officer,
Motricity.

The ability to reach hundreds of millions of mobile
phone users via the Motricity mCore managed service platform will not only
enhance the users mobile experience, but will also drive bottom line results
for our operator, brand and agency customers,” Ryan added.

The growth of mobile broadband penetration and the use of
smartphones within the wider Asian context has grown exponentially in the last
year. According to Infocomm, Asia accounted for more than 53 percent of the new
broadband lines added internationally in the first quarter of 2010, and a
separate Ernst and Young report further revealed that China and India are
expected to host the next billion mobile subscribers globally.

Motricity is excited to see the rapid evolution of the
mobile markets in Asia as it gives Motricity the opportunity to deliver high
value, relevance-driven mobile data service experiences for its customers that
make full use of their platform as well as mobile marketing and advertising
expertise and predictive analytics capabilities.

Located in New Delhi, the Motricity data centre is
significant enough to handle the expected growth in the Indian market, with the
ability to expand to serve all of Southeast Asia. The data centre is in the
process of completing the mCore marketplace product setup for Reliance in July
and is continuing to expand to deliver the full mCore solution suite.

Indian mobile operators stand to benefit from this
offering as the data centre provides in-country private cloud infrastructure
supporting Motricity’s software-as a-service solution architecture with local
engineering and operations support. Multi-layer security and redundancy is
provided as well as consistent monitoring and support by experienced
professionals.

A separate development centre has also been established
in New Delhi, where the Motricity Professional Services team will be based,
providing support to customers across Asia and the US. This facility will
engage in the entire software development lifecycle, future product
development, data center management, managed services and business
analytics.
