MonCre moves to an all-IP network with ADTRAN

ADTRAN, a provider of next-generation networking
solutions, announced that MonCre Telephone Cooperative, a telephony, broadband
and internet service provider, has expanded its strategic partnership with
ADTRAN.

MonCre selected the ADTRAN Total Access
5000’s Active Ethernet FTTH solution to seamlessly expand their service in
phases that match their operational and service delivery goals. With the first
phase beginning, MonCre is now able to deliver high-speed broadband and IP
telephony services to residential customers plus high-value business ethernet
services to small and medium business customers.

MonCre also plans to leverage ADTRAN’s
modular Ethernet access gateway, the NetVanta 8044M, in combination with the
Total Access 5000, for a complete ethernet access migration solution for
cell-site backhaul as MonCre transitions to higher-bandwidth mobile networks in
support of their growing cellular services business.

“ADTRAN is a trusted, strategic partner for
MonCre Telephone, having supplied key technology in support of our business
voice services for years. As we moved forward with our evolution plans to an
all-IP network, selecting ADTRAN was a natural extension of that relationship,”
said David Hubbard, general manager, MonCre Telephone.

“The ability to leverage ADTRAN’s complete
product portfolio with all of the benefits that brings to our network, combined
with world-class technology solutions, made it an easy decision to move to an
all-ADTRAN network infrastructure,” Hubbard added.

When the upgrade is complete, MonCre will
have approximately doubled its network capacity to support high-bandwidth
triple-play and Ethernet services to 100 percent of its residential and
business customers in Montgomery, Crenshaw, Pike and Bullock counties.

“The new approaches enable service
providers like MonCre to leverage their ADTRAN broadband solution to generate
new revenue streams, while providing the needed scale in their networks to meet
the future demands of their subscribers,” said Mitch Fleming, regional vice
president, sales, ADTRAN Carrier Networks Division.
