KIT digital, a cloud-based software solutions and
technology services provider for video delivery, announced that it was selected
by Grupo Clarin, a media group in Argentina, to leverage the KIT Video Platform
to support its news portal.
The Clarin relationship is jointly served
by KIT digital and the company’s Latin American channel partner, Latin Stock
Digital.
Clarin is using the KIT Video Platform to stream events
like the Auto-Show, events surrounding the Argentinian presidential election,
and Creamfields, a digital music concert. Creamfields was watched by more than
500,000 online viewers, making it Latin America’s largest ever live-streaming
event.
“The combination of KIT’s Video Platform and Latin
Stock Digital’s local support were essential to the success of our
initiatives,” said Clarin.com’s product manager, Gonzalo Luzza.
“The KIT digital platform allows us to successfully
broadcast live to Facebook, iOS, BlackBerry and Android devices. We are
extremely happy with the service and technology provided by KIT, and look
forward to expanding our relationship as we focus on offering even more
innovative online and mobile video experiences to our users,” Luzza added.
“We built the KIT Video Platform exactly for this
type of application — serving live, broadcast-quality video to hundreds of
thousands of concurrent users on any IP connected devices. We’re excited to
support Grupo ClarÃn as they forge the path as a new media innovator in the
region,” said Lou Schwartz, managing director for KIT’s Americas
region.
