Hyundai taps Verizon for connected services

Hyundai Motor America has selected Verizon Enterprise Solutions to provide connected services including safety, security, diagnostics and infotainment to Hyundai vehicles.

Verizon Enterprise Solutions will offer wireless network service for Hyundai’s Next-generation Blue Link.

“Our agreement with Hyundai expands our collaboration with a range of auto manufacturers throughout the industry to support network engineering, security, cloud solutions, telematics platform, and program management for millions of vehicles in the U.S. and around the world,” said Mark Bartolomeo, vice president Connected Solutions at Verizon Enterprise Solutions.

Forrester Research says the number of vehicles shipped worldwide with embedded connectivity is expected to grow from 5.4 million in 2012 to 36 million in 2018.
