Huawei IPT and contact center shipments achieve No 1 rank in 2011: Gartner

Telecom Lead India: Huawei’s IP telephony and contact
center shipments registered record growth in 2011, as the shipments achieved No
1 rank, according to a marketshare report by Gartner.

Gartner’s Contact Center marketshare report disclosed
that the rankings of Huawei Contact Center shipments upgraded to No 4 position
in the year 2011 from an earlier No 8 position for the year 2010, thereby
registering record increment rank No 1.

Furthermore, Gartner’s IPT marketshare report revealed
that Huawei’s PBX license shipments became first to enter the global Top 10
space, and the growth rate of Huawei’s IPBX shipments/ PBX revenue ranked No 1.

According to Gartner report, the enterprise telephony
market showed low growth with a 2.2 percent annual rise in global license
shipments in 2011.

Market growth varied significantly depending on the
region, with the emerging markets (led by Latin America) driving global growth
and Western Europe’s slowdown offsetting the gains. Sluggish economic
conditions in Europe resulting from the sovereign debt crisis prevented
widespread telephony investment and further delayed the recovery from the 2008-
to-2009 economic downturn in the region.

The report further revealed that North America and Japan
posted mild shipment gains, although the growth was not enough to raise volume
back to previous shipment highs.

The Asia/ Pacific region registered a 5.4 percent
increase in annual shipments. Softer market conditions in China contributed to
the deceleration of investment growth in the Asia/Pacific region. Overall,
global shipment volumes remain below levels reached before the crisis.

On the other hand, the year 2011 worldwide contact center
market exhibited double-digit growth in both agent license shipments and
end-user revenue as compared with 2010.

Recently, Huawei
overtook Nokia Siemens Networks to grab second place in the wireless equipment
market in Q4 2011. Ericsson is the market leader, with approximately $3.5
billion in wireless network equipment sales during fourth quarter of 2011.
