Wi-Fi 7 Battle Heats Up: Cisco Snatches Global Lead in 2025
Cisco has secured the top position in global indoor Wi-Fi 7 access point revenue share in 2025, narrowly surpassing Huawei, according to a report by Dell’Oro Group. The report says Cisco’s aggressive pricing strategy helped accelerate adoption of the new wireless standard, allowing the company to roll out Wi-Fi 7 faster than any of its previous WLAN technology launches. Growing enterprise demand for faster, more reliable connectivity also supported the rapid deployment of Wi-Fi 7 solutions.
Photonics Breakthrough: Pilot Photonics’ Ultra-Fast Laser Selected for Finchetto’s AI-Ready Optical Network Switch
Pilot Photonics announced that its nanosecond-switching tunable laser has been selected by Finchetto for integration into a next-generation optical network switch designed for AI and high-performance data communications. The technology will support Finchetto’s fully optical passive switching architecture, aimed at reducing data-centre power consumption and latency while increasing network throughput. The laser enables ultra-fast packet-level switching, a key requirement for scaling AI and cloud infrastructure. Finchetto has already demonstrated the concept using Pilot Photonics’ lasers and is incorporating the technology into upcoming prototypes for advanced optical networking systems.
EFJohnson Unveils Powerful Mission-Critical Communication Innovations at IWCE 2026
