Haier launches Android tablets, smartphone

Telecom Lead Asia: Haier, China-based company that offers
household appliances, has forayed into the surging smartphone market with the
announcement of a series of Android-powered tablets and a smartphone.

The company revealed its smart-device business plans at
the ongoing consumer electronics fair IFA in Berlin.


Haier has unveiled Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich powered
Mini Pad711 and Maxi Pad1012 tablets at the event.


The Mini Pad711 features a resolution of 1024×600 and
measures 7 inches touch screen, while the Maxi Pad1012 has 9.7 inches touch
screen.


Both tablets have Cortex-8 processor b/g/n Wi-Fi and 8GB
or storage (expandable with microSD).


In addition to tablets, the company has unveiled the
Haier-Phone Pad5511smartphone. 


The smartphone cum phablet features 5.3 inches touch
screen with a 940×540 display. The smartphone offers 4GB of storage and
features an 8MP camera and runs on Android.


However, the company did not reveal the price range of
these devices.
