Glowpoint to offer cloud managed video services for Polycom

Glowpoint, a global provider of cloud managed video
services, announced that they have signed an agreement with Polycom, a
globalprovider of unified communications (UC), to provide cloud managed video
services for Polycom’s telepresence and video conferencing solutions.

Under the terms of the agreement, Polycom partners are
able to offer Polycom branded cloud managed video services delivered by
Glowpoint. The services will include management of Polycom UC solutions and
video infrastructure on customer premise or fully hosted from Glowpoint’s
cloud.

“This agreement solidifies what was already a
powerful partnership,” said Joe Laezza, president and CEO, Glowpoint.

“Our cloud managed video services combined with
Polycom’s market leading solutions for telepresence and video conferencing will
let business customers realize the full value of visual communications. We look
forward to growing our joint capabilities and helping customers easily adopt
video, scale it to meet their needs globally, and use it openly to collaborate
with key partners and customers.” Laezza added.

The partnership with Glowpoint
will allow Polycom partners to offer market leading remote management
capabilities including customer valued managed services such as 24 x 7
proactive room and video infrastructure sweeps, helpdesk and concierge support,
software upgrades, scheduling solutions, and call recording.

“Glowpoint’s managed video services delivered via
the cloud clearly resonate with our customers. All of our partners are looking
for ways to make face-to-face collaboration easier than ever,” said Gary
Testa, Vice President, Global Cloud & Service Providers Solution Group at
Polycom.

“Now enterprises globally can gain immediate
benefits from Polycom’s industry-leading open collaboration solutions through
the cloud.  Glowpoint’s managed service offerings minimize upfront costs
and risks, enabling end-users access to Polycom’s standards-based,
high-definition, video solutions so they can collaborate on-demand and increase
workplace productivity,” Testa added.

In a study published in May of 2011 by Wainhouse
Research, channel partners in the video conferencing and unified communications
market indicated that over 74 percent of their customers are interested in
purchasing managed services for video.

Sponsored by Polycom, the OVCC links service provider
networks globally to deliver breakthrough video connectivity and
interoperability, drive business-to-business (B2B) applications, and help make
video collaboration between people and devices as simple and reliable as making
a phone call without regard to network provider, end-point or technology.
