EXFO appoints Ciena veteran Philippe Morin as COO

EXFO, a provider of test, service assurance and network visibility solutions, has appointed Ciena veteran Philippe Morin as chief operating officer (COO).

He will be joining EXFO in November.

At Ciena, Morin is working as senior VP of Worldwide Sales and Field Operations. Previously, he was senior VP of the Global Products Group at Ciena. He also held a number of leadership roles at Nortel Networks including president of Metro Ethernet Networks, VP and GM of Optical Networks.

EXFO aims to improve its sales leadership, market development, marketing, product management and technology strategy under the guidance of Morin. All sales and product management executives, along with the chief technology officer, will report directly to Morin.

“Philippe’s leadership will clearly help EXFO drive top and bottom-line growth in fiscal 2016 and beyond, while strengthening my C-suite and succession plans,” said Germain Lamonde, founder, chairman and CEO of EXFO.

EXFO has a staff of approximately 1,600 people in 25 countries, supporting more than 2,000 customers worldwide.
