Ericsson and Cisco bag their first IP deal in Brazil

FIFA BrazilEricsson and Cisco have bagged their first IP deal in Brazil – to supply and install IP routers for telecom operator Nextel.

Nextel aims to strengthen its IP network in Brazil to support traffic growth and improve performance on the mobile network.

Ericsson and Cisco are already long-term suppliers to Nextel.

The deal includes Cisco routers (ASR9010), supply and installation, overall project management, and customer support.

Ericsson and Cisco Systems announced their global partnership in November 2015 offering routing, data center, networking, cloud, mobility, management and control, and global services capabilities. The main aim of the partnership was to compete with Nokia.
