The Caribbean’s largest mobile telecommunications
provider, Digicel, has selected the DIGITALK Multiservice Platform for its
prepaid services throughout the US and Caribbean islands.
Digicel has been providing prepaid calling card and
pre/post paid PINless services to Diaspora communities in the US, particularly
in Miami, Florida using a white label hosted service. The move to in-house
management and operations of the platform architecture offers Digicel greater
control over distribution, pricing and promotions, and supports its plans to
introduce services in other countries.
DIGITALK will
assist Digicel in migrating all its existing services over to the DIGITALK
Prepaid Consumer Platform initially, and then support the roll-out of services
to other countries with significant Diaspora communities from the Caribbean
Islands, including the UK and France.
For Digicel, three things matter above all else – best
value, best service and best network. We were looking for a provider that not
only had carrier class features so we could offer new service features with our
re-launch, but also one that could deliver complete service reliability,” said
Conor Clarke, group director of International Business, Digicel.
We’ve managed a number of large-scale deployments this
side of the Atlantic now and are very pleased that our reputation as leaders in
prepaid consumer platforms in our traditional European Markets has stood the
test in the Americas and Caribbean,” said Justin Norris, CEO of DIGITALK.
