Cisco’s acquisition of BNI Video to strengthen Cisco’s Videoscape TV platform

Cisco announced it has acquired privately-held BNI Video,
a supplier of two major video products that offer video back-office and content
delivery network (CDN) analytic capabilities to service providers.

The acquisition will improve the capabilities of Cisco’s
Videoscape TV platform. Cisco’s Videoscape TV platform enables service
providers to deliver compelling video experiences to any device over any
Internet Protocol (IP) network.

BNI Video’s technology also helps Cisco‘s service
provider customers reduce their operational costs and complexity, while
expanding monetization opportunities.

BNI Video employees will join Cisco’s Service Provider
Video Technology Group.

Recently, Cisco announced that Telenor Satellite
Broadcasting AS (TSBc) selected Cisco
to power the company’s new encoding platform for Web-based TV. This will enable
Telenor Satellite Broadcasting’s customers to deliver their channel offerings
across any number of screens.
