China Telecommunications Technology Labs selects Spirent for TD-LTE testing

Telecom Lead Asia: Wireless networks and devices testing
provider Spirent Communications has been selected by China Telecommunications
Technology Labs (CTTL), a wireless test and certification organization under
China Academy of Telecommunications Research (CATR), to advance their TD-LTE
device test environment.

Chinese operators are conducting TD-LTE trial
deployments.

One of the core functions of CTTL is testing and
certification of telecom products. CTTL is a key player in the drive towards
the commercial readiness of TD-LTE.

Spirent said its VR5 will play a role in helping CTTL to
ensure the targeted levels of TD-LTE performance will be achieved in a timely
manner.

“We sincerely appreciate the recognition from such
an influential organization as CTTL. Spirent is excited to be a part of the
push towards commercial TD-LTE and is continually evolving our test solutions
to advance wireless technologies on a global scale,” said Spirent vice
president Rob VanBrunt.

Spirent VR5 Channel Emulator is designed for emulating
the complex RF channels needed in testing advanced wireless technologies such
as TD-LTE. Its phase calibration capability simplifies MIMO/beamforming testing
for TD-LTE and allows more test campaigns to be run in less time.
