CES 2012: ZyXEL offers service-ready solutions to telecom service providers

By
Telecom Lead Team: ZyXEL Communications, a provider of secure broadband
networking, Internet connectivity and routing products, will demonstrate its
cloud services, on-demand applications and multiple broadband solutions, such
as universal DSL and active fiber CPEs at CES 2012.

ZyXEL’s
cloud-based services include Video-on-Demand, music downloads and data backup
and storage. It runs on ZyXEL’s NSA310 media server, functioning as the
subscriber’s entertainment and information hub within the digital home.

“We
believe cloud-based services will serve as a vital revenue generator for
service providers moving forward. We intend to showcase field-tested solutions
for the cloud and on-demand services that will help telcos quickly and
cost-effectively deploy similar offerings to their subscribers,” said Brian
Feng, senior vice president of ZyXEL.

The
company will also showcase its CPEs that provide on-demand services built on
using open specifications based OSGi to deliver home monitoring, surveillance
and automation, telehealth, energy conservation and smart metering.

OSGi
modules can be remotely provisioned to ZyXEL CPEs for customizable services
without replacing the gateways, resulting in greater cost savings and quicker
service rollouts for telcos.

ZyXEL
will also highlight its new universal DSL and active fiber CPEs,
the P873HNUP Bonded VDSL2 Gateway and the FSG1100 Active Fiber CPE.

These
multiple technologies will be used to demonstrate IPTV service over IPv6 and
can be seamlessly integrated with wireless home entertainment solutions like
ZyXEL’s WAP5605 5GHz, wireless-n HD media streamer.

Few
days back, ZyXEL Communications unveiled its cloud enabled series of web cameras, the
IPC3605N and IPC4605N.

The
ZyXEL’s IPC3605N and IPC4605N have built-in, cloud-based technology that
eliminates traditional installation processes and access difficulties inherent
in previous generations of these devices.
