Bharti Airtel launches a new advertising campaign to promote airtel money

Airtel announced the launch of airtel money that allows airtel subscribers to
send and receive money from their mobile phone.

 

The service was launched on March 1, 2012.

 

airtel money is the country’s first of its kind
mobile wallet service by a mobile operator.

 

The new service allows Airtel customers to send and
receive money to/from another Airtel phone, recharge their Airtel mobile and
Airtel DTH, pay electricity bills, buy movie tickets from anywhere, anytime.

 

“We believe that airtel money – that empowers
the customer with the convenience of instant money transfer, will play a
pivotal role towards driving the goal of financial Inclusion in the
country,” said Sanjay Kapoor, CEO – India & South Asia, Bharti Airtel
recently.

 

The company also announced a new advertising campaign
coinciding with the launch of the service.

 

The campaign is built on the insight that money sent or
received on time is what makes it precious.  This thought is captured in
the tag line baat sirf paison ki nahin hai”.  There will be a launch TVC
to establish this thought and it will be followed by a series of TVCs which
showcase how airtel money can be used in different situations, transcending
limitations of time, money and location.

Bharti Airtel has chosen
Infosys as its partner for airtel money. Under this partnership, Infosys
WalletEdge – the mobile commerce platform will enable the ubiquitous mobile
wallet service to support cashless payments & settlement needs of diverse
customer segments. 

 

Infosys WalletEdge is a scalable platform capable of
supporting millions of transactions annually in a secure environment.
