Belarusian telecoms taps ZTE for billing system upgrade project

Belarusian telecom operator Minsk Television Information Networks has selected ZTEsoft, a subsidiary of ZTE, for billing system upgrade project to optimize operational efficiency and accelerate the time-to-market of new services.

Minsk Television will deploy ZSmart cvBS solution to manage payment-related functions including prepaid charging, postpaid billing, provisioning, mediation and settlement in Minsk Television’s main operations such as Cable TV and DSL.

The Belarusian operator selected ZTEsoft’s converged solution after an evaluation process of almost 12 months, said ZTE.

Zhou Yong, vice president at ZTEsoft, said: “ZSmart cvBS is designed to help operators transition their billing systems to meet the needs of today’s converged networks.”

As per the billing deal, ZSmart cvBS solution will enable Minsk Television to consolidate all legacy solutions and vendor-specific solutions into the centralized and converged ZSmart suite, shortening the time-to-market of new services.

In addition, ZSmart cvBS will also help improve user experience by reducing and eliminating billing errors, said ZTE.
