Telecom Lead America: Avaya has appointed Mark Wilson as
chief marketing officer.
Wilson has 17 years of experience in marketing roles at
AT&T, KPMG and Sybase. Before joining Avaya, Wilson was with Sybase as its
senior vice president of corporate and field marketing.
At Sybase, Wilson oversaw branding and advertising,
corporate communications, lead generation, sales enablement, and mobile product
marketing functions.
Previously, he co-led the strategy practice at KPMG
Consulting’s Information, Communication and Entertainment Group, and was a
marketing manager in AT&T’s Business Solutions Group.
At Avaya, Wilson will lead marketing’s transition to a
customer-solutions orientation as Avaya extends its leadership in effective,
open-architecture communications and collaboration solutions that work for
companies in the face of trends like Bring-Your-Own-Device, cloud applications,
and consumerization of IT.

marketing results, and leadership acumen make him a terrific fit to lead

His appointment marks the 17th hire at the VP level or
higher to join Avaya at the Silicon Valley location in the past nine months,
bolstering local leadership in sales, marketing and product development.

Recently, Avaya announced new appointments and changes to
the company’s senior executive committee.
Marc Randall joins Avaya as senior vice president and
general manager for Avaya Networking. Randall most recently served as vice
president and general manager of Cisco Systems’ Scalable Network Business Unit.
He has also held positions as president and CEO for Force10 Networks and senior
vice president of Brocade Communications.
