Anite acquires Setcom Wireless Products; broadens device testing

Anite, a provider of test and measurement solutions to the international wireless market, has acquired Setcom Wireless Products, a Munich, Germany-based supplier of wireless device application test solutions.

The acquisition will help Anite expand its wireless device application test solutions.

Following the acquisition, Setcom Wireless Products will be integrated to Anite’s Device & Infrastructure Testing business unit.  Setcom employees will be added to Anite’s team.

The transaction is expected to be complete by 1 April 2015.

With Setcom’s flagship solution S-CORE, Anite will expand its device application testing portfolio into Wi-Fi offload, IMS and RCS based services.

S-CORE consists of an application test suite, a rich and fully-featured user interface, a multi-RAT test platform and a comprehensive portfolio of test case packages, enabling rapid operator acceptance and device certification, the company said.

Setcom’s testing solutions are designed to improve performance and interoperability of wireless devices, whilst reducing time-to-market and development costs, the company said. The company serves mobile network operators, device manufacturers, operating system vendors and test houses.

Commenting on this partnership, Mike Bonin, managing director of Anite’s Device and Infrastructure Testing business unit, said, “This acquisition immediately expands our solutions portfolio for important device application testing demanded by our customers and will strengthen our technology leadership within signaling, performance and application test.”
