Telecom network operator Vodafone India has set up more than 2400 3G sites and 760 2G sites over the past fifteen months in Gujarat.
With the latest investment plans, Vodafone India said it has 13,350 2G and 3G sites in Gujarat, connecting 95 percent of the state’s population.
Thanks to its Capex (capital spending) plans, Vodafone has more than 6.5 million data customers in the Gujarat circle. Vodafone 3G connects rural artisans from Ranunj – Patan, farmers in Nardipur, milkmen in Vadasan, primary school teachers in Kherdi, panchayat from Sansrod, among others.
To promote data plans on 3G networks, Vodafone India is rolling out the Vodafone Mobile Internet Bus equipped with a live mobile data experience zone that will tour across all the towns and villages in Gujarat.
Vodafone India said its data revenues grew 56 percent. The telecom network operator said over 2.7 million customers of Vodafone’s total data customer base of 6.5 million in Gujarat are 3G users.

Vodafone is also striking content deals, simplifying pricing, educating retailers and offering a choice of plans to customers to boost mobile Internet revenues.
