Idea Cellular spends $155 mn for 2,326 2G sites and 2,580 3G sites in Q3

India telecom service provider Idea Cellular today said it rolled out 2,326 2G cell sites and 2,580 3G cell sites during the third quarter of fiscal 2015 – with a Capex (capital spending) of Rs 9.5 billion or $155 million.

With the latest expansion, Idea Cellular’s 2G telecom sites reached 109,931, while 3G sites rose to 27,744.

Idea Cellular’s Capex for the nine months stands at Rs 23.5 billion (excluding capitalized forex fluctuation and interest).

Earlier, Idea Cellular said its Capex for FY 2015 would be Rs 35 billion or $570 million excluding any spectrum related payments.
