Airtel announces modernized 3G network in Shillong

Telecom operator Bharti Airtel today announced its 3G network in Shillong.

The company’s investment in Platinum 3G services is part of the Project Leap, a Rs 60,000 Capex program for three years announced by Bharti Airtel.

Airtel has recently commenced the implementation of its network transformation program in North East and Assam. The main of the network investment is to enhance customer experience and boost data revenue.

Sameer Anjaria, CEO, North East and Assam, Bharti Airtel said: “In line with our long term growth strategy for North East and Assam, we will be investing heavily in upgrading our network and providing seamless customer experience across various technologies.”

In July 2015, Airtel introduced 4G services in North East. With the launch of Airtel 4G and Platinum 3G in the circle now, Airtel becomes the only telecom network in North East to offer high speed mobile Internet services.
