Telecom Lead Asia: The GSMA announced that executives
from China Mobile, Huawei, Nokia, Smart Communications and ZTE will be making
keynote presentations at the GSMA Mobile Asia Expo, which will be
held 20-22 June 2012 at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre
in Shanghai.
The GSMA announced that Xi Guohua, chairman of China
Mobile, Ryan Ding, CEO of Carrier Business Group Huawei, Olivier Puech,
president, Asia Pacific at Nokia, Napoleon Nazareno, president and CEO of Smart
Communications and Shi Lirong, president of ZTE will be participating in the
Mobile Asia Expo keynote programme.
We are entering a new era – mobile has completely
changed how we communicate, interact, learn and are entertained, and this
transformation will only continue to accelerate as greater numbers of people
and things are connected by mobile technology,” said Michael O’Hara, chief
marketing officer of the GSMA.
Beyond the keynote programme, the conference will include
focused breakout sessions providing essential insights on current and future
trends impacting the ever-changing mobile industry.
The Mobile Asia Expo will bring together the people and
companies that are driving innovation in today’s mobile world and will
highlight the leading role of Asia in the global communications marketplace,”
Michael O’Hara added.
Topics to be addressed in the Mobile Asia Expo conference
include applications, devices, embedded mobile, mobile advertising, mobile
broadband, mobile health, mobile Internet, mobile money, mobile operator
strategies, network evolution, NFC, retail in mobile and social media, among
others.
Recently, the GSMA
and the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) announced they are working under a
joint initiative to develop technical and commercial frameworks for Wi-Fi
roaming.
