A recent report by TrendForce indicates a promising trajectory for the OLED monitor market, projecting shipments to reach a remarkable 508,000 units in 2023. Moreover, the study foresees an even more significant milestone in 2024, with OLED monitor shipments expected to surpass the one million units mark.
The surge in OLED monitor demand can be attributed to the introduction of 27-inch and 31.5-inch OLED panels by two major Korean panel manufacturers. These new offerings are driving substantial growth within the OLED monitor business, capturing the attention of consumers and industry players alike.
Samsung is making significant strides in the OLED monitor market, aiming to secure a commanding 27 percent market share in OLED monitor shipments in the latter half of 2023. This mirrors the performance of LG Electronics, underlining the fierce competition within this burgeoning sector.
Dell is aggressively promoting its 34-inch OLED monitor, striving to secure a market presence exceeding 20 percent. Simultaneously, ASUS, positioning itself strategically in the OLED monitor sector, is setting sights on achieving a market share nearing 9 percent this year.
Analyzing OLED monitor sizes, the report predicts that the 34-inch segment will dominate with a 37 percent market share, closely followed by the 27-inch category at an estimated 32 percent. The 49-inch monitors are expected to capture about 14 percent of the market, while the 45-inch category is anticipated to round off the top tiers with a 10 percent market share.
TrendForce also anticipates the 27-inch monitors to emerge as the star player among OLED products, expanding their footprint in the market. Furthermore, with the increased production of 31.5-inch OLED offerings by both Samsung Display and LG Display, this size category is poised to witness a significant leap in market share, potentially surpassing 10 percent in the coming year.
The OLED monitor market is on a steep upward trajectory, driven by technological advancements and a growing appetite for superior display quality, positioning it as a crucial segment within the broader consumer electronics industry.
