Route Mobile Partners with Robi Axiata to Drive RCS Business Messaging in Bangladesh

Route Mobile, a Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) provider, has joined forces with Robi Axiata, a mobile network operator in Bangladesh, to revolutionize Rich Communication Service (RCS) Business Messaging.

Route Mobile (Bangladesh) will act as a Technical Enabler and Sales Partner for RCS Business Messaging, catering to enterprises, over-the-top (OTT) players, and mobile network operators.

Route Mobile will deliver managed services for RCS Business Messaging (RBM) to Robi, ensuring smooth operations by onboarding clients, offering 24×7 client support, maintaining API documentation, managing billing, invoicing, and reconciliations.

As a sales partner, Route Mobile will bolster RBM sales in the Bangladesh market, benefiting Robi’s substantial RCS-enabled Android customer base, which currently stands at an impressive 11 million users.

Anticipating a surge in RCS business messaging adoption in Bangladesh, the volumes are projected to reach a staggering 1 billion messages over the next 3 years.

Robi’s Managing Director and CEO, Rajeev Sethi, expressed enthusiasm for this innovative service, marking Robi as the pioneering mobile operator in Bangladesh to offer such a cutting-edge communication service.

Additionally, it will facilitate Robi’s market expansion in Bangladesh, promoting rich interactive messaging and accelerating the adoption of next-generation technology.

RCS business messaging, a multimedia-enabled interactive service by Google, allows brands to securely engage with customers, fostering trust through rich content such as images, carousels, suggested replies, and chatbot capabilities. These messages can be seamlessly delivered to all RCS-enabled Android phone users through their default Messages app.
