SES Networks will power Timor Telecom (TT), a telecom operator in Timor-Leste, to enable international voice traffic between Timor-Leste and the rest of the world.
Under the new agreement, TT will contract capacity on the NSS-12 geostationary earth orbit (GEO) satellite to establish a point-to-point link connecting Dili, Timor with Sintra, Portugal.
At present, SES’s O3b medium earth orbit (MEO) satellite network is powering 4G LTE network of TT to offer mobile data and broadband services to residents of Timor-Leste. TT will use more capacity on NSS-12 for international voice traffic between Timor-Leste and the rest of the world.
