Team Telecom Armenia deploys Nokia’s 25G PON fiber solution

Team Telecom Armenia has deployed Nokia’s 25G PON fiber solution to cover B2B subscribers and offer 20 Gb/s symmetrical broadband speeds crucial for emerging applications and business services.

Nokia’s 25G PON fiber broadband solution, based on the Quillion chipset, allows Team Telecom Armenia to reuse its existing fiber broadband equipment to address the demand for more capacity and enhanced broadband services.

The 25G PON will help Team Telecom Armenia provide faster connectivity to its customers. Team Telecom Armenia will be able to offer new services such as enterprise solutions, 5G mobile transport and network wholesaling.

Hayk Yesayan, CEO of Team Telecom Armenia, said: “Using Nokia’s most modern technologies means we are futureproofing our network and ensuring that our customers can enjoy the best possible online experiences both now, and in the years to come.”

Team Telecom Armenia’s network, based on Nokia’s 25G PON technology, covers around 300,000 households across Armenia, with construction actively continuing.

Team Telecom Armenia has 32.3 percent share in the fixed Internet market, according to its website. The number of Internet subscribers of Team Telecom was 96.9 thousand at the end of the second quarter of 2024.

Telecom Armenia has generated revenue of 3.93 billion AMD from fixed-line business in Q2 2024. For comparison, Team Telecom Armenia’s revenue from mobile communication business was 4.89 billion AMD.
