Liberty Global names Virgin Media COO Dana Strong as chief transformation officer

Liberty Global has appointed Virgin Media Chief Operating Officer Dana Strong as chief transformation officer.

Dana will report to Liberty Global CEO Mike Fries to identify strategic and operational opportunities that will shape the success of Liberty Global’s business in future.

Dana Strong joined the company in 1999 and held numerous positions before becoming COO for Virgin Media, including CEO of UPC Ireland and COO of AUSTAR Entertainment in Australia.

“It is the perfect time to identify and execute the strategic and operational opportunities that will shape Liberty Global’s success over the next five years,” said Mike Fries.

At Virgin Mobile, Dana helped deliver great results over the past 18 months, culminating in a record quarter for subscriber and customer growth in Q4 2014.
