Excitel expands broadband operations to Kanpur and Lucknow

Excitel has started broadband operations in the city of Kanpur and Lucknow offering affordable plans without FUP limits.
Excitel broadband businessExcitel Broadband has 390,000 subscribers across Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Bangalore, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Kanpur. The ISP targets 500,000 subscribers by the end of 2020. Excitel Broadband started operations in September 2015 as an Indo-European venture.

“We aim to go to every underserved area of Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities which till now have been mostly neglected by telecoms,” Vivek Raina, co-founder and CEO of Excitel, said in a statement.

Excitel said its more than 50 percent of broadband customers are on FTTH. It aims to sell only FTTH services by the end of 2020.

Excitel said it is currently delivering 600 Gigabits of Internet data over a fiber network of 20,000 km including partners’ broadband networks to close to 3.9 lakh households across India.
