BSNL, Data Xgen launch email service with 100GB space

BSNL India plans
State-run telecom firm BSNL today launched an email service, offering 100GB storage space, in partnership with Datamail provider Data Xgen.

BSNL will initially offer 100GB storage space for email account to women customers. The current storage space limit offered to the BSNL broadband customer is 1 GB which is less than to the storage space being offered by Gmail, Yahoo Mail and Hotmail etc.

“100 GB storage space is introduced with BSNL’s two pan India plans in free of cost. Plans offered are BBG Combo ULD 680 and BBG Combo ULD 950 to the customers on their bundled email service,” said Anupam Shrivastava, chairman and managing director of BSNL.

BSNL’s DataMail subscribers can use linguistic email address service offered by BSNL and Data XGen jointly on DataMail app.

“BSNL has led the new initiatives in India and offering 100GB storage space is another historical moment for the country,” said Ajay Data, founder and CEO of Data XGen Technologies.

BSNL launched free e-mail address service in 8 Indian languages for its broadband users on 21 December 2016. BSNL broadband users are empowered to open an email ID in DataMail app  in their own languages.
