Bharti Infratel revenue drops 1% to Rs 3,638 crore

Bharti Infratel reported revenue of Rs 3,638 crore (–1 percent) and EBITDA of Rs 1,885 crore (+25 percent) with operating margin of 51.8 percent during the second quarter ended Sep 30, 2019.

“Bharti Infratel has continued on the positive trend in quarterly net additions on both towers and colocations during the quarter” Akhil Gupta, chairman of Bharti Infratel, said on Monday.

Bharti Infratel reported expenses of Rs 1,752.7 crore, or 48 percent of total revenues from operations.

Expenses on power and fuel were Rs 1,403.6 crore. Expenses for operations and maintenance costs of the network were Rs 185.4 crore and employee benefits expenses of Rs 124 crore in the second quarter.

Bharti Infratel owned and operated 41,050 towers with 76,176 co-locations in 11 telecom circles while Indus operated 124,692 towers with 231,500 co-locations in 15 telecom circles across India.

Co-locations churn during the quarter on consolidated and standalone basis are 1,106 and 464 respectively. There are 3,750 co-locations on consolidated basis as of September 30, 2019 which are billed during the quarter and actual exits have not happened.

Net co-locations increased during the quarter on consolidated and standalone basis are 159 and 57 respectively. Bharti Infratel and Indus had average sharing factors of 1.86 and 1.86 per tower for the quarter.
